Elon Musk Rage Quits Video Game Livestream After Players Humiliate Him Relentlessly: ‘You Ruined the Country’
In the latest episode of “Billionaires Behaving Badly,” Elon Musk, the self-proclaimed genius and part-time Twitter troll, decided to showcase his gaming skills—or lack thereof—on a livestream. Spoiler alert: it didn’t end well.
Musk took to the virtual world of “Path of Exile 2” during an “airborne continuity test” for his Starlink satellite system. Yes, you read that right. He was gaming mid-flight on his private jet, because why not combine business with pleasure when you’re the world’s richest man and have a direct line to Donald Trump?
The tech mogul, who never misses an opportunity to remind us of his supposed prowess in just about everything, faced off against the game’s first boss, the “Bloated Miller.” Unfortunately for Musk, the Miller proved to be more than just bloated—it was downright formidable. After a swift defeat, the real boss battle began: Musk versus the internet.
Viewers didn’t hold back. Comments flooded in, ranging from critiques of his in-game performance to not-so-subtle jabs about his appearance and his role in slashing government programs through the Department of Government Efficiency. Some even went as far as to say, “You ruined the country.” Ouch.

Some of the messages were celebratory, calling him a “god gamer,” but the messages quickly veered into spammy, then abusive territory. One message asked him to “make it clap for daddy.” Another was a player claiming to be Ashley St. Clair, a former partner of Musk’s who is currently locked in a custody battle with him for their five-month-old child. While yet more seemingly cut to the heart of Musk’s destructive ego trip with the American government, “Elon, deep down you will always be cringe no matter how much money or power you have.”
For about 90 minutes, Musk sat there, stony-faced and unusually silent—a departure from his typically verbose online persona. Eventually, he’d had enough. Claiming he “lost connectivity,” the livestream abruptly ended. Convenient timing, wouldn’t you say?

This isn’t the first time Musk has faced public backlash. His recent endeavors, including significant cuts to government programs and a cozy relationship with the Trump administration, have drawn criticism from various corners. But who needs public approval when you have a private jet and a satellite network, right?
In the end, Musk’s attempt to blend gaming with tech demonstration turned into a masterclass on how not to handle online criticism. Perhaps next time, he’ll stick to what he knows best—whatever that may be.
