Trump Just Attacked French President Emanuel Macron In Tweet The Minute He Landed In Paris
Donald Trump attacked Emmanuel Macron for proposing Europe create its own military, just as the president arrived in France for a meeting with the country’s president.
Macron this week called for the formation of a “true European army” to protect the continent from potential threats, including China, Russia and the U.S. Trump is visiting France for a commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I.
President Macron of France has just suggested that Europe build its own military in order to protect itself from the U.S., China and Russia. Very insulting, but perhaps Europe should first pay its fair share of NATO, which the U.S. subsidizes greatly!

Trump was referring to comments made by Macron in a radio interview earlier in the week, in which he called for a “true European army” intended to “protect ourselves with respect to China, Russia and even the United States of America.”

Macron cited Trump’s recent announcement he planned to pull the U.S. from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear forces treaty with Russia as evidence that Europeans should direct more focus on protecting their own security interests.
“We need a Europe which defends itself better alone, without just depending on the United States, in a more sovereign matter,” Macron said.
“Who is the main victim? Europe and its security. I want to build a real security dialogue with Russia, which is a country I respect, a European country – but we must have a Europe that can defend itself on its own without relying only on the United States.”
The position doesn’t exactly conflict with Trump’s repeated past demands for U.S. allies to share more of the cost burden for their defense.
Twitter had some thoughts:
Wow. You've been telling us how much the world "respects" America now and respects YOU. This doesn't sound very respectful…. #Trump @EmmanuelMacron #Macron

Geez, it’s almost as if world leaders have figured out they can’t trust a word you say. Wonder what gave ‘em that idea?
Oh yeah … every word is a lie. Silly me.

Congratulations on destroying this countries relationships with our allies to the degree that they now believe it might be prudent to protect themselves from us. So much f**king winning.

I miss when the USA was viewed as a shining example of Democracy working. We were once looked at for leadership and defenders of freedom. Now we just collect rent and sell to the highest bidder.

I agree with Macron. France and our old allies can no longer depend on the USA due to trump. So getting their own military makes sense. Might create allot of jobs for asylum seekers too
