Melania Flies Back to DC With Her Parents On Government Plane On Day 31 of Government Shutdown

Melania Trump left Florida for Washington D.C.’s on Martin Luther King Jr. Day as she returned home to the White House with her son Barron and her parents in tow.

The First Lady was spotted boarding a jet in West Palm Beach on Monday afternoon after spending several days soaking up the warmer winter weather at Mar-a-Lago.

She was joined by her 12-year-old son Barron and her parents Viktor and Amalija Knavs.

Melania made the trip to Mar-a-Lago last week just days after her husband canceled speaker Nancy Pelosi’s international travel plans due to the partial government shutdown.

Melania has been very quiet and out-of-sight during the shutdown, and has only tweeted twice in the New Year.

Today Melania tweeted in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr, saying, “Today we honor the life and legacy of #MartinLutherKingJr #MLKDay”

Yesterday, the two-year anniversary of Donald Trump’s inauguration, Melania tweeted “It has been an unforgettable two years in the White House. I am honored to serve this great nation! ????????”

It’s incredibly hypocritical that Melania is using government resources to cart her parents around when 800,000 federal workers have no idea how they will pay their rent on February 1st.

Twitter quickly called her out:
