Melania Trump Tweeted About Black History Month — It Didn’t Go Very Well
Melania Trump is encouraging Americans to celebrate the nation’s diversity in honor of Black History Month. But many people aren’t convinced of the first lady’s sincerity…or her attempt to #BeBest.
Melania took to her Twitter to write about how she wants people to “come together in celebration of our diversity.”
“February is #BlackHistoryMonth. Let us come together in celebration of our diversity to remember our past and look towards our future.”
February is #BlackHistoryMonth. Let us come together in celebration of our diversity to remember our past and look towards our future.

Shortly after she posted her message, however, people weren’t shy about asking Melania whether she really cares about the celebration. Many have also implored her to remind her husband to recognize it himself.
Maybe you should sit this one out FLOTUS.

You should probably mention this to your husband. The rest of us got the message on the value of diversity and the importance of black history month-he’s the one who needs the education.

We're not celebrating diversity, we're celebrating BLACK people, our resilience, and our incredible contributions to the country that kidnapped us and tried everything to keep us (literally) in chains. #BlackHistoryMonth #BlackLivesMatter ????????❤

Nice try – your husband is still the scum of the earth. Also, you should probably pick up a book (if you can even read – still up for debate), and learn what Black History Month is about because it’s about a hell of a lot more than just “celebrating diversity”.

I thought we were remembering and honoring the legacy of the many African Americans who have contributed to this country, those sung and those unsung but maybe it is diversity month now.

Melania Trump like the rest of the Trump KKKlan don't care about black people! Specially since The Grand wizard of Pennsylvania Ave still thinks that there were good people on both sides in Charlottesville, and that Black athletes should be fired for Kneeling during the NA! https://t.co/TTTg6mxvM8

Fuck off, birther. https://t.co/CwI5OgFSFM

One person even pointed out that the “celebration of our diversity” isn’t even the point of the annual observance of Black History Month.
Black History Month is NOT a “celebration of our diversity.” It is a time for recognition of the many, too often un/under-recognized but significant contributions of African Americans in this country. #BlackHistoryMonth
