Kellyanne Conway gave an interview to Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo on Thursday morning, and she dished on the ongoing feud between Donald Trump and her husband, outspoken critic of the president George Conway.

“Your boss is calling your husband a whack job,” Bartiromo said after playing a video of Trump slamming Mr. Conway. “What’s going on?”

“My husband also has been very critical of the president publicly, which is unlike him,” Kellyanne said. “He’s traditionally been a very private person. In 2016, which was known as the year of the tweet, George Conway sent exactly zero tweets. So this is new. And what also is new is not supporting the agenda of the president and my work there.”

Kellyanne accused the press of ignoring how George took himself out of contention for a job in the Justice Department, and she expressed her thanks to the president for defending her from “what he thinks is unfairness, I leave that up to him.”

“I was raised in a household of strong Italian catholic women that taught me you air grievances like that in private,” Conway said, “so it is very surprising to see it be so public.”

As Conway continued to criticize her husband for his change of heart on Trump, it led to her hitting the media again for digging into her personal life.

She rejected the idea that she has to choose between Trump and her marriage, snarking about “feminists everywhere who pretend they are independently thinkers” because they don’t let husbands make decisions for them.

Bartiromo grilled Kellyanne Conway on whether she had spoken to her husband about her concerns, and also if she’s ever spoken to Trump about her husband in detail.

Conway suggested that they’ve only ever talked about it “in passing.” Kellyanne went on to bash “people on Twitter” who attack Trump because they “somehow think they have an equal platform to the President of the United States.”

“He is president and you are not,” Conway said.

“Have you said that to your husband?” Bartiromo asked.

“I have said it to many people,” she answered.

The interview continued with Conway dismissing the idea that her husband voices her criticism of Trump while she’s not in a position to make them herself.
