Rep. Adam Schiff Just Called Out Trump in Incredible, Fiery Statement Listing All of Trump’s Russia Lies

Rep. Adam Schiff, chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, fired back at Republicans on the committee who signed a letter Thursday calling on him to resign.

Rep. Mike Conaway led the charge against Schiff, saying in a televised hearing Thursday morning that Republicans “have no faith” in the chairman’s “ability to discharge” his duties, and urged his resignation.

Schiff responded by comparing his colleagues’s criticisms to Donald Trump’s “attacks.”

He then embarked on a lengthy speech listing all of the ties between Donald Trump, his campaign, and Russian interference in the 2016 election, including the Trump Tower meeting, Paul Manafort’s ties to oligarchs, Roger Stone’s ties to Wikileaks, and Jared Kushner’s attempts to establish a backchannel with Russians.

“My colleagues may think it is OK the president’s son was offered dirt as part of an effort to help Trump,” Schiff said in his statement, pausing at times for dramatic effect.

“You might think it is OK. I don’t,” Schiff added, his voice rising as he went on.

“You might say that’s all okay,” Schiff said. “You might say that’s just what you need to do to win, but I don’t think it’s okay. I think it’s immoral. I think it’s unethical. I think it’s unpatriotic. And yes, I think it’s corrupt and evidence of collusion.”

Trump earlier in a tweet on Thursday called for Schiff’s resignation from Congress.

“Congressman Adam Schiff, who spent two years knowingly and unlawfully lying and leaking, should be forced to resign from Congress!” Trump said.

Schiff has said he plans to move forward with the panel’s sprawling investigation into Trump’s links to Russia, financial and otherwise, and allegations the president could be potentially “compromised” by the Kremlin or another foreign power.
