Trump is Bringing All His Children to the UK to Meet the Queen on Taxpayer Dime

Donald Trump’s state visit to England next month will be a family affair.

The president’s children and their spouses are expected to attend a banquet hosted by Queen Elizabeth II during the three-day trip beginning June 3, ABC News reported, citing a White House source.

The Trump children — Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner, Eric Trump and his wife, Lara, Donald Trump Jr. and Tiffany Trump — are also expected to meet with Prince William and his wife, Kate, the report said Thursday.

“President Donald J. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump accepted the invitation from Her Royal Majesty Queen Elizabeth II to visit the United Kingdom from June 3 to 5, 2019,” the White House said in a statement to ABC. “This state visit will reaffirm the steadfast and special relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom.”

CNN’s Kate Bennett (who covers the Melania beat) confirmed the report:

Buckingham Palace and the White House are still working out final details for the visit.

The president and first lady are expected to have tea with Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla.

During their visit to England last July, Trump and his wife had tea with the queen at Windsor Castle.

The queen has hosted two previous state visits for U.S. presidents, President George W. Bush and first lady Laura Bush made a state visit in November 2003 and President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama made a State Visit in May 2011.
