Kellyanne Conway Just Said the ‘Feeble’ Robert Mueller Didn’t Read His Own Report

White House Counselor Kellyanne Conway questioned on Thursday if Robert Mueller had read his own report and expressed sympathy for the former special counsel who was criticized for his fumbling performance before Congress.

Conway charged Democrats with “using and abusing” Mueller in a political stunt when they hauled him before two Congressional committees on Wednesday to talk about his 448-page report.

During an interview with conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt, she said she had a great deal of “compassion” for Mueller, while simultaneously calling the special counsel “feeble” and “clearly not conversant with the facts.”

“This was clearly a political stunt by people who were using and abusing Director Mueller,” she said.

“I also saw somebody who, it was not clear to me, was in charge of his own investigation for most of it. I read the polls that very few Americans have read the Mueller report, I’d like to know if that number includes Bob Mueller himself,” she added.

Conway, known for her willingness to thrown punches in defense of Donald Trump, expressed a mixture of outrage at Democrats and offered words of empathy for the 74-year-old Mueller in the wake of his testimony.

She slammed Democrats for trying to use Mueller’s sterling reputation to bolster their impeachment argument.

They were “trying to imbue a flawed investigation, an underwhelming report for their purposes and no juice for impeachment – trying to imbue all those efforts with Bob Mueller’s integrity and reputation and that’s a shame. I saw somebody who did not want to be used and abused by people,” she said of Mueller’s almost seven hours of testimony on Capitol Hill.
