Melania Trump Says She Doesn’t Need Any Advice From Michelle Obama, Thank You Very Much

Don’t hold your breath waiting for the phone to ring waiting for Melania Trump to take the advice of Michelle Obama.

Melania Trump hasn’t reached out to Michelle Obama for advice about being the First Lady, and that isn’t going to change.

Obama wrote in her memoir that she told Trump to contact her if she ever needed help, but said during a recent interview with ABC News that the current First Lady hasn’t done so.

Trump’s press secretary, Stephanie Grisham, has since said that Trump turns to her own team for guidance.

“Mrs. Trump is a strong and independent woman who has been navigating her role as First Lady in her own way,” Grisham said in a statement to CNN. “When she needs advice on any issue, she seeks it from her professional team within the White House.”

In that section of Obama’s book — which is titled “Becoming” — she writes that the First Lady before her, Laura Bush, had told her she’s “a phone call away” should she need anything.

It’s unclear if Obama ever took Bush up on that offer, but she says she made sure to extend that same invitation to Trump.

Obama’s memoir she also explains while she’ll “never forgive” Donald Trump for frequently questioning her husband Barack’s citizenship.

“What if someone with an unstable mind loaded a gun and drove to Washington?” Obama wrote. “What if that person went looking for our girls? Donald Trump, with his loud and reckless innuendos, was putting my family’s safety at risk. And for this, I’d never forgive him.”

The President responded to Obama’s comments and said:

“I’ll never forgive (Barack Obama) for what he did to our United States military by not funding it properly,” Trump said. “It was depleted, everything was old and tired, and I came in and I had to fix it.”
