Trump Planning A Return to Reality TV After Leaving Office, ‘The Apprentice: White House’
Even after Trump leaves the White House, he may still get to dramatically fire people and keep his orange mug on TV.
Since first becoming president, Trump has “confided to close associates that he misses hosting The Apprentice and The Celebrity Apprentice on NBC,” The Daily Beast reports, and now, he’s apparently actively eyeing a return to reality television after his time in the White House is over.
Trump and Mark Burnett, the creator of The Apprentice, have been “pitching each other details on potential TV projects to be filmed after the Trump presidency,” The Daily Beast writes.
One idea would evidently be a politics-themed version of The Apprentice called The Apprentice: White House, which would “take full advantage of Trump’s status as a former president of the United States and a newfound Republican kingmaker.” A source told the Beast there have been “several discussions” about this potential show, though another source confirmed it was discussed but said “the conversation did not go far.”

Burnett himself is denying the report, with a spokesperson saying he and Trump “have not discussed making television shows in any shape or form.”
A return to reality TV for Trump would make sense, though, considering how often he has apparently waxed nostalgic about his time on NBC, not to mention the fact that even while president, he still found the time to obsess over The Apprentice’s ratings under new host Arnold Schwarzenegger. Trump’s quest for that Emmy he feels he was so unjustly denied may be far from finished.
But the notion that Trump is angling for a return to TV is easy to believe. It was TV, after all, that seemed to be calling him in 2016 when everyone expected Hillary Clinton win the presidency. In October of that year, Jared Kushner reportedly discussed launching a Trump TV network with potential investors. And even after Trump won, some speculated that he might launch a network anyway.
Three years later, Trump TV now seems unlikely, but that doesnโt mean that The Apprentice: White House will never come to fruition. One potential home: the new streaming service that Burnett is hoping to launch.
