Ivanka Trump met with Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, on Wednesday…and people are asking why.

The images of the meeting soon went viral on social media. Pictures of the meeting showed Ivanka and the Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan smiling as the two shared a lighted hearted moment.

Ivanka currently serves as a senior adviser to President Donald Trump on job creation, economic empowerment, workforce development, and entrepreneurship.

At the meeting, both discussed education and training programs to empower Pakistani women.

This is the first time that Ivanka Trump met with the Pakistani PM Imran Khan. Last year in July when PM Imran Khan met Donald Trump in White House, he interacted with Melania Trump as well.

But the question is, why on earth is Ivanka there? At Davos, representing the United States?

The New York Times noted that Ivanka “was presented at this conference of global elites as a principal second only to her father, even as she traveled as part of a delegation that included all of the president’s most important economic advisers.”

A handbag designer. Principal only second to the president. Ponder on that for a moment.
