Melania Faces Backlash After Photo Op at ‘Happiness Class’ to Tout Her ‘Be Best’ Sham of a Platform

Melania Trump visited a government school in New Delhi on Tuesday that teaches students a “happiness curriculum” centered around mindfulness as part of her and husband Donald Trump’s first official trip to India.

The first lady watched children at the school play, practice yoga and perform a bhangra dance, Reuters reported. She wore a traditional “tilaka” red dot on her forehead and a garland made out of marigolds.

“It is very inspiring to me that the students here begin each day with mindfulness,” Trump said of the Sarvodaya Co-Education Senior Secondary School. “I cannot think of a better way for all of us to start our day.”

“This is my first visit to India and I cannot express how delightful it is,” she said. “The president and I are grateful to be guests.”

The “happiness curriculum” was started by the left-leaning Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in 2018, according to Reuters. It reporedly focuses on fostering social skills by having children learn mindfulness practices in addition to storytelling and drawing, according to the party’s website.

Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi and a member of the AAP, on Tuesday tweeted a welcome for the first lady.

A video posted online by Asian News International showed Melania Trump watching a student dance, and it appears Melania has absolutely no rhythm whatsoever.

The idea of Melania continuing to push her “Be Best” platform is laughable, considering who her husband is. While Melania was pulling off this photo op with students, her husband was giving a press conference where he said that two liberal Supreme Court Justices should recuse themselves from his case, and also made a bizarre claim that Michelle Obama was close to convicted rapist Harvey Weinstein.
