Now that Donald Trump is set to be acquitted by the corrupt GOP-led Senate, he seems to feel he can lie with abandon.

Because why not? No one is going to stop him.

Trump proved this by telling a whopper of a lie and Friday, and no news outlets have even covered it. Because again, what’s the point? Trump lies every single day. It’s just our world now.

During an event meant to discuss human trafficking, Trump decided to boast about his daughter Ivanka Trump.

Trump said, “And now created over 15 million jobs for the people of our country. … It was going to be 500,000. ‘Daddy, I think we can do 500,000.’ Within about a week, she broke that and now she’s up to 15 million jobs. It’s fantastic.”

This is not even remotely true.

Less than half that many jobs have been added to the entire workforce during Trump’s presidency and his daughter is not responsible for them.

The president is referring to a White House initiative led by Ivanka Trump that has garnered nonbinding commitments from companies to provide 14 million or so training opportunities in the years ahead. Training for a job is not working at a job for money.

There’s no telling how many workers were already going to be trained, absent the initiative. In many cases, the pledge simply confers a presidential seal of approval on what some companies are doing anyway. By having companies sign the pledge, the administration is relying on the private sector to take on more of the financial burden of training workers.

Last October, Ivanka claimed this initiative had created 6.3 million jobs. Lydia DePillis interviewed some of the companies that contributed to this number, and several admitted they had simply credited all real (or, in some cases, hypothetical) job openings to the Ivanka initiative.

And this isn’t the first time Trump has lied about these numbers.

In November 2019, Trump claimed Ivanka created 14 million jobs. Now it’s 15 millions.

The lies, they never end.
