White House Panicking: Trump Dangerously Screwing-Up Coronavirus Might Blow Election

Let’s start with some great news. Trump doesn’t yet think that Russia has so overtaken our voting systems that he’s already guaranteed a victory because “Russia’s got it taken care of.”

He is in a panic that he could lose the election.

Great. He should be.

Except his panic is about the fact that he’s already screwed-up a possible global pandemic.

Politico has the report and is deeply concerning:

According to a report from Politico, the White House has become gravely concerned that the so-far bumbling response to the coronavirus could have a long term effect on Donald Trump’s drive to remain in the White House beyond 2020.

The report notes that “The Trump administration is bracing for a possible coronavirus outbreak in the United States that could sicken thousands — straining the government’s public health response and threatening an economic slowdown in the heat ofPresident Donald Trump’s reelection campaign.”

In other words, he’s freaked the f-out about the fact that he’s such a shitty president that he won’t be elected again?

That is basically what it gets down to.

A “great” president would have a team of specialists already managing this full time from the White House and CDC, including economic experts. He would be demanding daily reports from around the world and feeding those reports to our public health community throughout the nation. He would already be working with transportation people in key infrastructure positions to at least “limit” the damage.

A great president would also already be communicating these plans to the U.S. public, ensuring that the public knows that there is danger in a possible outbreak, but there is also danger in a possible overreaction. He would note the plans already in place, and that the variables are being analyzed out in 30-90-180 day intervals. He would also have the world’s best viral and epidemic specialists advising the American people that they are using the best evidence-based practices to do all that is humanly possible.

In other words, a great president would be handling it like the responsible principal of your local high school handles problems and manages them like a professional. That status is so far beyond Trump that …

He should be worried.

Oh, and we should be worried, too. Trump has intelligence on the virus that we do not – yet, and it is scaring him, which ought to scare us.

With two officials stating they believe that the “coronavirus is already spreading undetected” in the U.S., Politico also notes that the president is attempting to downplay the threat in public at the same time that he is voicing major concern about how it might affect his political future.

That is Trump, to a “T.”

Rather than worry about the fact that this could kill hundreds of thousands of the citizens he’s sworn to protect, he is worried mostly about what it will do to him personally in “ruling” this nation. And, he’s willing to put his personal need to be reelected over discussing the nation’s need to protect itself.

I cannot put into words …

****

Peace, y’all
