At the Crux of War on the Virus, Trump Opens Press Conference With War on ‘Drugs’

I learned something today!

The only thing worse than having to cover Trump press conferences daily is having to cover them daily, but while wanting to hear information from Drs. Fauci and Birx, we are instead treated with a press conference that starts with presentations by Trump, the FBI, and the Military on the War on Drugs and drug interdiction in the Caribean, and Eastern Pacific. On NBC news right now, the Pentagon reporters say that they have known this for months.

He is attempting to distract, dress this military action as “action” against a “new problem,” that drug dealers will use the “stay at home” orders as an opening (seems more like a door closing). Regardless, this was not news, it was more – on “brand.”

Yes, that is so sucky right. It is exactly what it was.

I had totally forgotten. Nothing says needing a wall more than drug carrying, disease-ridden hordes coming over the border.

Jesus, the DOD is on the TV talking like a DOD secretary, and Trump is telling us that people are trying to get into the nation, so it will have a covid 19 impact. We are the world’s leader in the coronavirus! People will be leaving this nation!

Yep: “The Wall is stopping everybody cold, that’s how well it works. It’s having a tremendous impact.”

Kind of like tweeting about “upon information and belief” Iran is possibly targeting U.S. troops?

It is exactly like that. Yesterday was “100,000 to 240,000” deaths, and today it is as if there is no coronavirus or covid-19.

This is an insult to Americans. There is one damned thing that Americans want to hear today, numbers and plans, not new figures on the Wall – which is all we got to begin with until reporters started asking questions.

Peace, y’all
