We have all had nightmares about the orange menace, and wondered why a man would pancake on so much makeup.  Many of us – or at least me, I don’t know about others – believed he just wanted to look like he had a nice healthy tan because he’s just that vigorous and active. He wants us to see a young man trapped inside an aging body. And while maybe that is some of it, the vanity goes even deeper.

Want to know how deep? Take a look at this picture, from the Oval Office, you’ve all seen it a million times:

I always wondered why Trump looked so old compared to most pictures in which he looks … old. It now occurs to me that the picture was taken by Russian state media. We were not supposed to see that picture, remember? Perhaps because people might object to Trump meeting the Russians the day after firing Comey, or perhaps because people might point out that Russian spies could place a bug the size of a poppy seed anywhere inside the oval office. The point is, Trump had no makeup on in the picture – it’s easy to tell, or at least it sure seems like it to me. The picture wasn’t meant for dissemination inside the Untied States.

Now we have a theory as to why he wears the makeup and it comes from someone who worked on The Apprentice:

Now, I don’t know that Noel is enough of an authority to note that any rosacea is due to drug abuse. Plenty of adults get rosacea and it has nothing to do with drugs or anything to do with lifestyle. I do believe Noel would know about nose jobs, and those might be attributed to rosacea, too – I don’t know.

I do think it is completely in-character for Trump to do all he can do to cover it up, so to speak. Cover-ups come naturally for Trump, even if his color doesn’t.
