Finally, Dr. Birx’s Own Peers at CDC Are Angry Over Her Refusal to Counter Trump’s Lies

The nation itself has long grown weary and wary of Dr. Deborah Birx, Trump’s personal favorite epidemiologist since she is – apparently – the only epidemiologist on earth who won’t pass judgment on opening tattoo parlors in an epidemic. We had to know that if she was pissing us off, and she was, she had to really be getting the doctors down at CDC angry with her love of power and her servitude. Now that anger at CDC is getting out to the public.

According to Rawstory, Kristen Holmes on CNN Saturday said she had spoken to CDC officials: Video Below:

“Nick Valencia reporting with me, talking to CDC officials in Atlanta, who said they’ve been disappointed with Dr. Birx and her lack of really pushing back on some of the comments that President Trump has made that we know are untrue,” said Holmes.

Understandable.

You would think a second-year medical student would push back on drinking bleach. Wait, you would think that a high school student would push back on drinking bleach. But not Dr. Birx, at least not very forcefully.

Unlike NIH official Dr. Anthony Fauci, who has more directly contradicted the president, Birx has more frequently tried to fit her medical recommendations into what Trump has already said. She has also consistently praised the president’s leadership in forums about medical guidance, which has caused some commentators to question her credibility.

Right. It is the “praising of the president’s leadership” that is the real giveaway. Trump both expects that type of lavish praise, and cannot resist it. It proves to him you’re a “good person.” That is why Michael Pence approaches Mrs. Pence at night and says “Under President Trump’s leadership, I am feeling a little romantic tonight.” They all have to do it … if they are subservient.

Those are who not politicians, but scientists, stay away from that language like it’s I.V. bleach. They know they lose all credibility. I think it’s best we let the real scientists at the CDC know that we are on to her, too. We’re convinced that the vast majority are more like Dr. Fauci and not like Dr. Birx.

It is a shame, too. Because by all accounts Dr. Birx is an eminent scientist and one of the world’s leading experts in epidemiology. She also seems quite nice. But it does go to show that credibility is critical and a lifetime’s work earning one’s reputation can be dissolved in months. The stain on her career isn’t going to wash away soon, no matter how much bleach she uses.
