Twitter is Done with Trump: Hides Trump’s Vile ‘THUGS’ Tweet for ‘Glorifying Violence’
While the nation finds itself entering one of the worst summers in three generations, with COVID, unemployment, cities on fire, and much more, Trump is focused upon taking his vengeance out on Twitter and anyone else who might upset him. There is no problem too big to stop Trump from heading to Twitter, as president, and tweeting something ridiculous.
Last night, Trump moved from the crazy to the dangerous, so dangerous that for first time, Twitter had to hide a Trump tweet behind a warning that the tweet violated Twitter’s policy against the glorification of violence.
Twitter had to hide the second of two Trump’s tweets under the following header:
This Tweet violated the Twitter Rules about glorifying violence. However, Twitter has determined that it may be in the public’s interest for the Tweet to remain accessible.
First, Trump’s opening tweet:
I can’t stand back & watch this happen to a great American City, Minneapolis. A total lack of leadership. Either the very weak Radical Left Mayor, Jacob Frey, get his act together and bring the City under control, or I will send in the National Guard & get the job done right…..

Trump managed to make this about Democrats, knowing that he is the one who has happily lit racial tensions across America.
And then the one Twitter had to hide:
….These THUGS are dishonoring the memory of George Floyd, and I won’t let that happen. Just spoke to Governor Tim Walz and told him that the Military is with him all the way. Any difficulty and we will assume control but, when the looting starts, the shooting starts. Thank you!

This is what you see when you go to Twitter and look at Trump’s tweet:
“THUGS.” With Trump threatening to send “the military,” not the National Guard, though Trump likely doesn’t know the difference.
Donald Trump has taken a nation that was already on fire and managed to pour gasoline on top by issuing one of his most vile tweets yet. We might add that only Donald Trump would respond to this crisis with Tweets! Then he crosses the line for public consumption, using the word “THUGS,” all too purposefully. “Looting starts, the shooting starts.”
Does he find it cute he can make a rhyme?
Of course, as Trump rose this morning, his mind was back on serious problems. He shifted from threats to Minneapolis and got it back on himself, of course. He took his fury out on Twitter:
Twitter is doing nothing about all of the lies & propaganda being put out by China or the Radical Left Democrat Party. They have targeted Republicans, Conservatives & the President of the United States. Section 230 should be revoked by Congress. Until then, it will be regulated!

So Trump unleashed his inner tyrant-dictator. Last night he threatened to allow the “military” (national guard) to start shooting, gleefully with a rhyme. This morning he says he’s going to take control of Twitter.
It has always been said that Trump was moving toward increasingly authoritarian instincts, but this now crosses the line. His favorite social media platform hurt his feelings, and so, as president, he moves to control that platform and punish it.
Trump sees Twitter now as no different than Nancy Pelosi, Joe Biden, Adam Schiff, and Joe Scarborough, it hurt him. But unlike the politicians, Trump believes that being president allows him to control Twitter.
As we move toward one of the most dangerous times in three generations, Trump is moving toward dictatorship with instincts that would make him one of the most brutal leaders on earth if he were really unleashed. He hasn’t stopped yet.
The president of the United States cannot be trusted to speak on Twitter, and his worst threats occurred while a city burned. This is so dangerous.
