‘You Want To Be Politically Correct!’: Trump Mocks Reporter ForWearing His Mask During Press Conference

In one of the most dangerous statements of his presidency, a reporter who wouldn’t take his mask off when Trump asked led Trump to say “You want to be politically correct.” This is a statement of unbelievable importance with terrifying implications.

There is already evidence and concern that Trump’s refusal to wear a mask is leading to his followers to eschew masks as something a liberal would do.

Now, having heard it is “politically correct” to wear a mask, his followers might easily be even less likely to do. Wearing a mask had already been implied to be a Democratic or liberal thing, putting politically correct on top of that assertion is astounding in that the single last thing Trump supporters seem to want to do is to ever, ever, ever, have to be “politically correct” again.

They voted for Trump because he gave them permission to let their freak fly with respect to racism and respect for LGBTQ people, among others, and now wearing a mask will likely been seen as akin to being told to stop being racist, etc, etc.

Trump’s own CDC and his own experts such as Dr. Birx have encouraged everyone to wear a mask and Trump just undermined the entire message, at least for his cult. The single strongest weapon this nation has against the spread is universal masking.

God only knows why Trump doesn’t want people wearing masks. It may well have something to do with masks reminding people that the nation is undergoing an epidemic – which it is – and believe it is dangerous, thus stalling the economy. Of course, nothing will stall the economy like an immediate second wave, which couldn’t matter less to the people exposed, infected, and dead or on a vent.

This is so fcking sad and outrageous.
