Americans Erupt in Fury Upon Learning Taxpayers Paid Tens of Millions So Melania Could Renegotiate Her Prenup

Earlier today, we, and seemingly every other news outlet in the U.S., reported on excerpts from the new book by Mary Jordan, “The Art of Her Deal,” which were surprising in part and rather obvious in part.

We learned that Melania plays a much larger role in Trump’s life than we would have otherwise thought, which was surprising.

We did already know that Melania had the eye of the tiger when it comes to money and seizing advantages for herself, we just didn’t know the degree to which she was willing to go. One of those ploys to gain an advantage for herself was her decision to stay in New York at the beginning of Trump’s presidency, as a means of forcing Trump to renegotiate the pre-nuptial agreement.

When Melania Trump stayed behind in New York after her husband’s presidential inauguration, she said it was because she didn’t want to interrupt their then-10-year-old son Barron’s school year. News stories at the time concentrated on an apparent frostiness between the first couple and on the exorbitant taxpayer costs to protect Melania and Barron away from Washington.

Those stories are true, but Washington Post reporter Mary Jordan reveals in a new book that the first lady was also using her delayed arrival to the White House as leverage for renegotiating her prenuptial agreement with President Trump.

This is a new revelation. It is typical Melania, thinking of herself, first, last, only, because that decision cost the United States taxpayer a fortune. The presidential detail is a tremendous expense, as they are the best in the world, the training alone costs piles of money, and they have one hell of a big footprint. It would also be much much more expensive to do all of it in Mid-town Manhattan as opposed to the White House, where they have a system and headquarters. Melania’s decision meant that the Secret Service essentially had to double that footprint, at perhaps three times the cost. We paid the bill, she got a better deal when she divorces his ass.

That pissed some people off:

It is outrageous.

Ninety-nine percent of the world would think, “I can’t do that, it would require all those people and all that money to …” But then again, those are normal people.
