The American president is (was) the leader of the free world. In many respects, Congress’s job is to take the lead at home and pass necessary domestic legislation, while the president led foreign affairs. Then both houses checked the other.

In other words, the American president is supposed to have a deep understanding of international relations, “real politic,” and the world in general.

It is not a huge deal to expect a presidential candidate to be able to easily point to Kazakstan on a map. Trump is dumb as a fcking rock, especially concerning those areas of the world that don’t interest him.

Trump thought Finland was part of Russia, despite it being an independent country since as long as anyone on the scene can remember, according to John Bolton’s new book. Perhaps Trump saw a map made out by Putin, showing the world as Putin wished it to be and Trump figured they’d get a leg up on it.

But most shockingly, Trump didn’t know that the U.K. is a nuclear power. That is stunning.

I am sitting in a (very nice) hut in southern Mississippi and I can name the world’s nuclear powers off the top of my head, U.S., UK, France, Russia, China, India and Pakistan, the jury is still out on North Korea. I am not a student of foreign policy or even international relationships. I do watch the news, that’s all.

Note that it is generally the democratic nations that Trump knows nothing about, Finland and the U.K. Trump seems to know quite a bit about Turkey and some about China. Trump has a native instinct to get into those areas where there is a leader that is as corrupt as Trump so that a “deal” can be made to help the two.

Trump has no use for the U.K. government because no matter how close he may be with Boris, Boris can’t do Trump the type of favors Trump wants – money. Trump has no use for Finland or any other stable democracy. He knows Saudi Arabia, Russia, Turkey, and the UAE. Trump knows who he can make a “deal” with them. We don’t have inside information as to Trump’s desires, it is simply obvious given the stuff in which Trump shows interest.

When Trump is out of office, we’re going to see an avalanche of little tidbits of information such as this, which will humiliate us for decades to come, while also humiliating us. There is no doubt in my mind that Trump will somehow seek a pardon before he is out the door for any and all crimes he might have committed while in office.

Unbelievable.
