Lincoln Project Ad: ‘Flag of Treason’ Nails Trump for Confederate Sympathies and Racist Whistles

Trump has gone full white-supremacist since he declared himself the Law and Order president. In the span of just a few days, Trump declared he would never rename army installations such as Fort Bragg, Hood, etc, named after Confederate generals, even though – in a surprise to us – the army said it was open to doing so.

In a much more shocking and offensive move, in this environment of racial tension, Trump announced that his first rally since March, Trump’s big “comeback” would be in … Tulsa Oklahoma, infamous for the worst massacre of black Americans in our history. Of all the cities in America, from Florida, to North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania or Michigan – states Trump needs to win, and all the cities within them, Trump picked Tulsa Oklahoma as a whistle, and not a dog one. June 19th is also the day that news of Lincoln’s emancipation proclamation freeing the slaves reached Texas and Oklahoma.

None of this is coincidental any more than Trump’s use of the term; “When the looting starts, the shooting starts.” Trump seems well-versed in American racist history. It fits since his father was reported to be a klan member.

There is also the fact that white supremacists, klan groups, and confederate flags are often prominently displayed at Trump rallies and appearances. The Lincoln Project ad takes on that “association,” and meet’s Trump’s desire to make this presidential campaign about race head-on.

That is right. Make Trump own it.

This ad will certainly “harden the base” that loves Trump primarily because of his willingness to “get tough” on black Americans. Put another way, the racists love that Trump is a racist.

But the vast majority of this country realizes it is time to make another move in our continuing struggle with race relations. They don’t want any association with racism, and ads like these will matter to a huge extent going forward.

It is a powerful ad.
