Trump Takes the Sweetest Video on the Net and Warps It for His Campaign Perversions
We cannot be certain how long this will be up, and it is hard to figure out if Trump intended for this to “fool” people, whether it is supposed to be a joke, or what is going on. It looks as though Trump was “mocking CNN,” though the point hasn’t been made clear, as we demonstrate below.
Everyone who has spent any amount of time on Twitter has seen the adorable and life-affirming video of the two little boys, one black and one white, coming to see each other so happily. They hug and then run down the sidewalk together. Here is the real video, from the CNN website and we’ll put it in a tweet below:
This ad is an absolute lie. https://t.co/Oq0WizRRDS

So leave it to some MAGA head to ruin the clip and the narrative to suit Trump, and make it look like CNN had doctored a video that we had all seen probably 5-10 times. In the doctored video, the video shows only the children running down the sidewalk, the black child first, and the white child coming up behind him. The fake CNN banner says: “Terrified Toddler Runs From Racist Baby.”
And Trump picks it up and tweets it, as a “joke” on CNN? Or … what? What is he doing tweeting this shit? We really don’t know … and that’s the point.

This man has his finger on the nuclear arsenal of the United States. Clearly something is wrong with him if he thinks this is “funny” or entertaining.
Even if Trump meant it as a joke, a lot of people are taking it as a “real thing.”

That does seem to be his goal

The only clear thing is that – for now – he’s the president. He has taken something that belonged to people’s hearts and “ruined it.” It has a lot of people again talking about his health:
This is the social media account of the president? Of the United States? Until recently, a G20 country? https://t.co/R1amdsusQk

How is it that you manage to be more and more of an embarrassment every single day?
— Paul 👻 (@pablo_honey1) June 19, 2020
HEAPS of embarrassment rained down upon him, and rightly so.
Why promote a video like this with such ridiculous chyrons? Why not put a headline on it saying, “No one is born racist. It’s a learned behavior!”

What kind of asshole tweets this shit?
Oh. Nm. We see.

There were a couple “funny” (not ha-ha funny, but op-ed “funny”) responses:

What gross soulless dumpster of a man would take that sweet video of two little children's' friendship, one everyone has seen and loved, and twist it for their own warped political purposes?
ANSWER: DONALD J. TRUMP

Only Donald Trump would use innocent children in a campaign ad. 🙄 Shameful,
— Jules Morgan 🧸 (@glamelegance) June 19, 2020
If that was his intention, then it is even grosser. It probably was his intention to make a statement against CNN – so he takes the most beautiful video made in a long time and ruins it.
So symbolic. Everything Trump touches, dies.

Peace, y’all
