Americans Annoyed as Melania Trump Pushes for Schools to Open in WH Meeting, ‘This Needs Subtitles!’

Why are the First Lady and-or the “Whatever One Calls Ivanka” sitting in and participating in very official White House meetings? We have seen Melania participate in meetings on Hurricane preparedness, Ivanka sit in on economic recovery meetings, and now Melania on a COVID/opening schools meeting with some of the nation’s governors. There are more, we just name a few that come immediately to mind.

Do we even need to say this in the United States? It looks a lot like a monarchy when a president has family serve as … whatever capacity, in official meetings meant to run the government.

As much as it pains us, at least Donald Trump received votes and took an oath of office. That comports with democracy. (Set aside the concerns about the stolen election part) The president is also able to name staff and have official advisers. But it gets really icky and problematic when family is sitting in as if this were some meeting at the Trump organization where family serves as part of the operation. It also gets in the damned way of running a government because what happens when Ivanka whines about a decision made by the Chief of Staff? In any organization, it can lead to the family member overriding the Chief of Staff and at that point it becomes … well, a monarchy, or perhaps a dictatorship – Iraq. Because Ivanka and Melania become the second or third most powerful person in the room.

Yes, the First Lady has always had some official duties, no they were not overlapping with meetings on national emergencies! Melania and Ivanka didn’t appear in meetings two years ago, it started happening just in the last year. We wonder why.

Just note how odd it looks and feels like to have Melania sitting right beside Trump in this meeting. The video has to play a bit to see her, at least the second one.

Is Melania there to keep an eye on Trump and perhaps jump in with something distracting if Trump starts … if he starts to appear sick, or looks to be having trouble? We have absolutely no idea. But Melania and Ivanka are making more and more appearances at official meetings of late. It could be because there are so few strategists and advisers left, which brings up the monarchy feel again.

But if we were forced to guess, it’s only a guess, we believe it would have something to do with a family member there to “help” cover something, just in case they’re needed. We don’t know what.

This particular meeting today was a roundtable pushing for states to open schools ASAP.

And we weren’t alone, Twitter had questions as well. Many were wondering why Melania’s English is still so…poor.
