Trump Campaign Considering Displaying Statues at Future Trump Rallies

President Donald Trump and his campaign team are discussing adding a new and unconventional feature to his rallies (other than his usual bellicose ranting about the “fake news media”). Indeed, they are considering adding statues.

It’s not clear at this point what statues his campaign team is considering, but sources say the possibilities include “America’s Founding Fathers,” according to ABC News.

Trump hasn’t exactly made his rage at protesters who damage or remove Confederate statues a secret but White House and his campaign team are tossing the idea around, JoeMyGod reports.

During his speech at Mount Rushmore last Friday Trump only briefly referred to the pandemic and excoriated the mostly peaceful protesters throughout his speech, referring to them as “angry mobs” that pose a “growing danger.” Then he claimed protesters are attempting to remove “the heroes of 1776” in order to “end America.”

“Our nation is witnessing a merciless campaign to wipe out our history, defame our heroes, erase our values and indoctrinate our children,” Trump said. “Their goal is not a better America. Their goal is to end America.”

But what values does Trump have? How exactly has he made America better? By fomenting white supremacy and returning this country to a level of racism not seen since the 1960s? By doing pretty much nothing about a rapacious virus that’s killed more than 134,000 Americans?

Trump also told his audience he’s issued an executive order that establishes the “National Garden of American Heroes” noting it will feature statues of “the greatest Americans to ever live.”

The White House has since issued a list of more than two dozen people that could be included. The list includes people you’d generally expect — George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, but it also includes Antonin Scalia, who vehemently opposed affirmative action and other issues that help make life better for African-Americans, and who was an obnoxious human being. To say the least.

Once again, we are now at a crossroads in American history. What will we leave behind for this country’s children? A legacy of racism and corruption of the very worst sort? A level of selfishness aimed at those of us most vulnerable to a deadly virus that is now a part of everyday life? Or will it be a legacy of redemption and the freedom to raise our voices if we deem it necessary?

Because that’s what we’re looking at now, folks.
