Trump Claims ‘Nobody Ever Heard’ Abraham Lincoln Was a Republican Until He Pointed it Out
Trump has a giant “tell” that everyone knows. Whenever he says “No one ever heard of _________ until I brought it up,” or “Until I said so,” Trump is conveying that he had no idea until someone told him. Obviously. So it was pretty ridiculous when Trump said that no one knew that Lincoln was a Republican until Trump brought it up. Trump doubled up on his “stupidity” in it because not only didย he not know,ย he also didn’t know thatย practically everyone knowsย that the GOP is “the Party of Lincoln.”
TRUMP: โLike people donโt remember โ nobody ever heard of it until I came along, nobody remembered it for a long time or they didnโt use it at least. I use it all the time: Abraham Lincoln was a Republican. You know you say that and people say, โI didnโt know that.โโ pic.twitter.com/QcfnPUhlOj

Whenever Trump says “People say,” he – of course – is one saying it. He’s making it up. Trump said “I didn’t know that” at least to himself.
Obviously, there are a few other things about Lincoln that Trump has a hard time understanding. Lincoln was a hardcore progressive. Lincoln was so progressive that he believed in freeing the slaves even though he knew that the South might go to war to keep the institution. Lincoln thought it was the right thing to do. Moreover, Trump doesn’t realize that Lincoln was one of the most “big government” types out there. Lincoln believed in big government so much that he sent in the big-government army to defeat the traitorous Confederate army.

Lincoln was also famous for being honest. There isn’t much that Trump shares with the Republican Lincoln.
Some people had some thoughts about Trump’s statement:

Trump won’t have a presidential library. They cost money, and they are for scholars.
1:People don't know that = I did not know that.
2: Republican (mostly north) and Democrats (mostly south) later switched platforms. So yes Abraham Lincoln was a republican but would most likely be a democrat today.

Lincoln wouldn’t just be a Democrat, he would be supporting Black Lives Matter.

"Like pens. Nobody had ever heard of a pen until I came along, and nobody used one for a long time until I did again. And a lot of people, many, many people, don't know that a pen contains ink. I knew it contained ink before they called it ink, believe me, folks, believe me…" pic.twitter.com/lLTtna0QkH

The only people who say โI didnโt know thatโ are John Miller, John Barron, David Dennison and Carolin Gallego.

Good grief, just because a mentally defective fake president doesn't know Lincoln was a Republican, he thinks the rest of the country is equally as ill-informed? Unbelievable.

Trump always announces common sense information that EVERYONE knows as if it were an arcane intellectual achievement to know it. EVERYONE except Trump knows Lincoln was a Republican; we also know that since 1968, the GOP has been the racist party of the south. #TrumpTaxReturns
