Trump is ‘Leading Cause of Death in the US’, Rosie O’Donnell Slams Trump for His Handling of Pandemic

Comedian Rosie O’Donnell is a noted critic of President Donald Trump, having ripped him on occasion, but on Wednesday night, she really lit into Trump in a tweet, alleging he’s the main cause of death in the U.S. right now, in a likely reference to the devastating pandemic that has killed so many.

While she didn’t specifically mention the novel coronavirus, this is more than likely what she was referring to, since more than 148,000 people in the U.S. have died as the pandemic continues to rage.

In some ways, O’Donnell’s tweet echoes another tweet by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who has dubbed coronavirus as the “Trump virus.”

O’Donnell and Trump are notorious bitter rivals, having engaged in a feud that’s lasted at least a decade. The feud flared up again during the 2016 presidential election when Trump spent one debate justifying the comment he made in which he called her a “pig.” In response, O’Donnell fired back angrily on Twitter, writing “HE WILL NEVER BE PRESIDENT!” and later requesting that people “shame the Donald.”

Trump made the comments after Hillary Clinton (correctly) accused him of sexism during the debate, saying “This is a man who has called women pigs, slobs, and dogs.”

“Hillary is hitting me with tremendous commercials,” Trump said at the time. “Some of it I said in entertainment, some of it said to somebody who has been very vicious to me, Rosie O’Donnell. I said very tough things to her and I think everybody would agree she deserves it and nobody feels sorry for her.”

O’Donnell also retweeted the powerful image below Thursday and she’s not wrong here. This seems to be where things are at in Trump’s America.

And Trump has remained useless as the pandemic rages on, which means O’Donnell has a point here as well. He’s also made his attitudes on women more than clear, so one can’t blame her for calling him out. His behavior is sexist and repugnant and all along Rosie has simply been telling it like it is.
