Trump Screams on Twitter That Obama and Biden Should Get 50 Years in Prison for Treason, ‘NEVER FORGET!’

Trump knows next to nothing about how government functions, and he demonstrates it on a daily basis. There is no clearer indication that Trump doesn’t understand the tasks the constitution assigns to each branch than his endless lament that nothing is happening to the clear spying on his campaign! You know, the spying that Obama and Biden did! Indeed, Trump thinks that if it were the other way around, it would be a clear act of treason befitting fifty years in prison.

This is not the tweet of a well man. This is terrifying.

We haven’t forgotten. We remember that your Justice Department said there was nothing to it.

We have not forgotten that the Russians stole the emails from the DNC – which can be construed as “spying” under any reasonable definition of the word. We haven’t forgotten that Russia worked with Wikileaks to ensure that the emails were let loose into the world at the most opportune time for Trump. We cannot forget, because it just came up again recently that Roger Stone was the primary go-between linking Wiki-leaks and the Trump campaign. We certainly haven’t forgotten that Roger Stone said on numerous occasions that there was immense pressure put upon him to “roll over” on Trump and that he expected to have his sentence commuted in return. (Not a pardon, since a pardon involves an admission of guilt and relinquishment of one’s 5th Amendment right to testify against oneself).

We haven’t forgotten the fact that Trump is the head of the executive branch which means that he is Bill Barr’s boss. If someone committed treason against the United States, it would be the FBI’s job to investigate the case and the Justice Department’s job to prosecute the case. To the extent Trump is complaining that “no one is doing anything about it,” he can blame himself since he has oversight over both departments. Only, he can’t, because it never happened. We know because Trump’s own Justice Department investigated it extensively.

If anyone committed treason, it would be the guy that took advantage of the stolen DNC materials, and – as Roger Stone implied – knew their source – in order to win a presidential election. Furthermore, if anyone has committed treason, it is the man who used those emails to become president. It might be the fact that Trump owes Russia – in part – for winning the presidency in the first place, that he has done nothing, not even a comment, on the fact that we have intelligence that Russia placed bounties on the heads of our troops. Trump did make a point of saying that he never verbally heard about it, and has since not addressed it. Not even a warning to Russia.

If Trump wants to talk treason, we do have some things to talk about.
