Earlier this month, former Rep. Michele Bachmann warned that if former Vice President Joe Biden is elected President he’ll crash the U.S. economy and turn the country communist. Now she’s back at it again, having recently appeared on a podcast hosted by pastor Todd Coconato, where she once again claimed Biden will turn the country communist and America will be “done.”

“This is a revolution in the street,” Bachmann told Coconato, per Right Wing Watch. “It parallels communist takeovers in nation after nation for the last 103 years. This is a communist revolution and takeover in our streets, and really Joe Biden is the nonessential candidate. From his party’s perspective, they don’t care who’s at the top of the ticket because what they know is that 100 days after the election, should Biden prevail, they intend to put in, I believe, a Marxist form of government. They’ll have it done in about 100 days. We’ll never go back to who we were before, so this is not a normal election — this is the existential election of our lifetime. That’s what we need to understand.”

Poor Michele must be off her meds again. She hasn’t figured out that if America didn’t turn communist under President Barack Obama when Biden was second in command, it’s certainly not going to do that if he becomes president. And as MarketWatch notes, Biden is still wavering on Medicare For All although he has moved further left on some issues, like climate change. That said, he has yet to embrace Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez’s Green New Deal. So Biden is, at best, a centrist.

Bachmann is right about one thing though, there is a revolution in the streets because people are angry at a president who has taken their country down the dangerous path of fascism framed by racist dogma. A dogma that encourages hatred of those whom Trump supporters consider as “other.” Trump has fanned these flames and tossed gasoline on them. So Bachmann is right when she says revolution is coming. Because most of us don’t see any other way around this except to fight.

But Bachmann continues to hit the panic button.

“Either we’ll go on as the America we formerly knew or we’re done,” she said. “We’re done. I hate to say it, but I’ve been at the top of the top in Washington, D.C., and I have watched this every second of my life every day since. This is where we’re at. We either have a chance to go back to where we were and have America become great again or we’re done. We’re done.”

Many of us would say America has never been great. It’s a country that has been hobbled by racism from the get-go, even at the hands of our Founding Fathers. So let’s not heed the advice of a woman who clearly needs a psychiatric visitation.
