Kayleigh McEnany Says Nancy Pelosi Should Invoke the 25th Amendment on Herself
President Donald Trump’s increasingly erratic behavior has spurred House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) to address members of the press Friday morning and announce their intentions to introduce legislation to establish a commission based on the 25th Amendment, especially as the situation has grown decidedly worse since Trump tested positive for COVID-19.
As can be expected, this isn’t sitting well with the Trump administration and Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany has a thing or two to say about it, PoliticusUSA reports.
“The only one who needs the 25th Amendment is Nancy Pelosi herself,” McEnany said in a tweet.
“Good morning, Sunday morning after suggesting impeaching President @realDonaldTrump for exercising his Art. II, Sec. II power!”
“Stop projecting Nancy!”

“Good Morning, Sunday Morning,” she bizarrely blurts out after suggesting impeaching President @realDonaldTrump for exercising his Art. II, Sec. II power!

If the panel is established it will be called the Commission on Presidential Capacity to Discharge the Powers and Duties of Office, which, according to a statement from the offices of Pelosi and Raskin, would establish a commission to “help ensure effective and uninterrupted leadership” in the presidency, The Washington Post reports.

A news release accompanying Pelosi’s announcement stated the 25th Amendment allows “Congress to help ensure effective and uninterrupted leadership in the highest office in the Executive Branch of government.”
This isn’t the first time that Raskin has tried to implement such legislation. In an interview with CNN’s Chris Cuomo Thursday night, he said this legislation “is not about one president. It doesn’t mention President Trump. It’s about having the body in place that’s contemplated by the 25th Amendment.” The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has caused him to think “this is something we should do for the continuity and stability of the office.”
For Americans left exhausted by Trump’s continued instability, this may come as a relief. I don’t know if Trump will be elected for a second term, but if that happens and he continues to spiral out of control, this will provide lawmakers with the impetus to remove him if necessary.
So, McEnany, who incidentally, recently tested positive for COVID-19 while her boss continues to be a super-spreader can continue with her inane remarks but it’s a relief that Democrats like Raskin and Pelosi are on the job.
Here are Pelosi and Raskin’s comments to the press below:
