The Details of What Kimberly Guilfoyle Did at Fox News to Get Her Fired are Truly Horrific

This is the type of sentence one has to read five or six times to verify that one read it correctly. It is correct.

Kimberly Guilfoyle – Donald Trump Jr.’s mistress turned girlfriend – and Trump campaign finance chair, was, according to reports, terminated from Fox News due to harassment complaints filed by her former assistant at Fox. Were that not enough, Fox News went to significant lengths to silence Guilfoyle’s accuser, according to a new report in The New Yorker, entitled: The Secret History of Kimberly Guilfoyle’s Departure from Fox.

From the time she appeared on Don Jr.’s arm, Kimberly gave the impression that she chose to leave Fox willingly, where she had hosted the Fox show “The Five,” and she let it appear that she left in order to appear on Don Jr.’s arm more regularly. Media reports at the time noted that she’d been controversial and reprimanded for texting photos of male genitalia and other workplace impropriety. But it went deeper, much, much, deeper according to The New Yorker’s star reporter Jane Meyer:

But, as I reported at the time, shortly after Guilfoyle left her job, Fox secretly paid an undisclosed sum to the assistant, who no longer works at the company. Recently, two well-informed sources told me that Fox, in order to avoid going to trial, had agreed to pay the woman upward of four million dollars.

Umm, that’s more than simply receiving obscene pictures.

We are going to add one more paragraph because we cannot take much more, and suffice it to say this young woman went through hell. No one will ever look at Kimberly Guilfoyle the same ever again:

The woman was hired in 2015, just out of college, to work as an assistant for Guilfoyle and another former Fox host, Eric Bolling. According to a dozen well-informed sources familiar with her complaints, the assistant alleged that Guilfoyle, her direct supervisor, subjected her frequently to degrading, abusive, and s*xually inappropriate behavior; among other things, she said that she was frequently required to work at Guilfoyle’s New York apartment while the Fox host displayed herself naked, and was shown photographs of the genitalia of men with whom Guilfoyle had had s*xual relations. The draft complaint also alleged that Guilfoyle spoke incessantly and luridly about her s*x life, and on one occasion demanded a massage of her bare thighs; other times, she said, Guilfoyle told her to submit to a Fox employee’s demands for s*xual favors, encouraged her to sleep with wealthy and powerful men, asked her to critique her naked body, demanded that she share a room with her on business trips, required her to sleep over at her apartment, and exposed herself to her, making her feel deeply uncomfortable.

That is quite enough.

And yet – knowing all this, because they simply HAD to know this – the Trump campaign hired Guilfoyle as a prominent spokesperson and put her on the finance committee. She is well-compensated, at a minimum of $180,000 a year in salary and we’re relatively certain that she expenses out plenty of “business expenses” to the campaign. God only knows what those would include.

Most campaigns do quite a bit of background work to ensure that top-level spokespeople and prominent faces have nothing in their background that might embarrass the candidate. The Trump campaign is not like most campaigns. Who could embarrass the campaign more than the candidate himself?

Now, if you were Don Jr., you might have some questions as to how Kimberly just so conveniently landed in your lap right as she was leaving Fox News. Perhaps we aren’t the only people who were led to believe that she left “for love.” Maybe – maybe, because we don’t know – maybe this report will be as big a surprise to Don Jr. as to us.
