50 Cent Says Rapper Lil Wayne Got Paid to Endorse Trump, Because 50 Was Offered $1 Million to Go to Inauguration

50 Cent is one of a handful of Black rappers who support President Donald Trump and while appearing on The Breakfast Club Tuesday, he claimed he was offered $1 million to attend Trump’s inauguration — and he’s willing to bet other Trump-supporting rappers received similar offers, Mediaite reports.

“I’ve come to y’all to talk about them offering me $1 million to go to Trump’s inauguration,” he said, referring to Trump’s team, mid-way through the interview. “$5oo,000, and it went up to a million while I was still confused about what to do.”

That lead Charlamagne Tha God, the show’s co-host to ask what was so confusing about the offer. He especially wondered if the amount of money was too good to pass up.

“He was needing it for the same reasons you see now,” 50 said, referring to Trump. “He participated with different artists for the Black vote. And I’m going, Nah, I ain’t gonna put myself in that position. ‘Cause I don’t know what I’d have to do to recover from that.”

A bit later in the interview, he denied receiving money for tweets that dissed Joe Biden and instead claimed he saw Biden’s tax plan for the first time last month on CNBC and that’s what spurred the tweets.

Here’s one of the tweets below:

At the same time, 50 said he thinks the Trump team paid Lil Wayne to endorse the president.

“So Wayne definitely got a check then?” Charlamagne asked.

“Yeah, I’m sure. Easily, he got paid. He had the sweater and the picture,” referring to the rapper’s photo with Trump.

And that’s what Lil Wayne posted last month: a picture of him and the president with thumbs-up in front of a row of American flags.

Wayne lauded Trump for his purported criminal reform work, adding “the platinum plan is going to give the community real ownership. He listened to what we had to say today and assured he will and can get it done.”

After the interview, 50 Cent posted on Twitter that Trump should pardon Lil Wayne for recent firearms possession charges.

“Wait a minute, Trump still got 63 days left, call him Wayne. Get that fool on the phone,” 50 tweeted. “They gonna try to put you in jail for supporting Trump.”

That part about Lil Wayne going to jail for supporting Trump? That’s a cute fallacy. Wayne is actually charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon, which carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison. And I’m willing to bet that if Trump proposed any plan to supposedly help Black people it was little more than a desperate effort to win a second term as president.

If there’s one thing Trump does well, it’s failing at winning.
