Election 2020

Delusional White House Official Says Trump ‘Clearly’ Won a Week After Trump Lost the Election

Numerous allies of President Donald Trump continue to allege he will emerge as the winner of the election after the legal battles conclude and even though that’s completely at odds with what’s actually happening, one more ally has come forward to support this decidedly inaccurate view, The Hill reports.

White House Trade Adviser Peter Navarro said Friday that officials are currently assuming “that there will be a second Trump term,” despite the fact that Joe Biden is the clear winner of the election.

“We are moving forward here at the White House under the assumption that there will be a second Trump term,” Navarro said during an interview with Fox Business, the day after most major networks called Arizona for Biden. Even Trump’s own Fox News has called the state for the President-elect.

“I think it’s really important before people’s heads explode here, to understand that what we seek here is verifiable ballots, certifiable ballots and an investigation into what are growing numbers of allegations of fraud under signed affidavits by witnesses,” he said.

He followed that up by describing the election as “immaculate deception.”

This leads me to wonder what if anyone who serves as a trade adviser knows about elections and a September report by The Washington Post shows this is a man who largely oversteps many of his responsibilities and whose personality is harshly abrasive, effectively alienating many of his colleagues.

Numerous claims of voter fraud in the 2020 presidential election have gone viral but most, if not all of them have been debunked by the BBC, Snopes, Politifact, and FactCheck.

Clearly, it’s time for Trump and his supporters to lick their wounds and disappear because even the president’s advisers are saying they can’t see a path forward and the president is well aware his term will end in January.

But even so, these people continue to flout reality, despite the fact that Biden leads Trump by more than five million votes and has won the battleground states of Pennsylvania, Arizona, Michigan, and Wisconsin.

Unfortunately, this reality hasn’t prevented Navarro and others from claiming Trump will serve another four years in office, with even Secretary of State Mike Pompeo saying earlier this week that “there will be a smooth transition to a second Trump administration.” During a Fox News interview, he was asked if he was being serious but refused to answer.

Trump stubbornly refuses to concede and has claimed with absolutely no evidence whatsoever, that there’s been widespread fraud in the election. His latest contentions have targeted a voting software company allegedly switching votes from him to Biden, but officials and stakeholders working on election security are noting this election is “the most secure in American history.”

“There is no evidence that any voting system deleted or lost votes, changed votes or was in any way compromised,” read a statement issued by a government coordinating council overseeing election systems that was distributed Thursday by the Department of Homeland Security.

But even as this situation drags on, administration officials are reported to be job-hunting because unlike their outgoing boss, they are perhaps realistic about the situation. There’s a likelihood that Trump faces a bleak future as his chances of facing prosecution regarding his and his family’s business and tax practices when he leaves office continue to increase.

All I can say is it couldn’t happen to a more deserving person.
