GA Secretary Of State Says Lindsey Graham Pressured Him to Toss Out Legally Cast Absentee Ballots

This. Is. Unbelievable.

Lindsey Graham is a lot of things, a lost soul, for one thing, a former decent guy that a lot of Democrats in DC liked, and a guy that once called out Trump as accurately as anyone, a threat to the entire Republican party, who has now become one of Trump’s biggest defenders in Washington DC. One can speculate on what could make a powerful senior senator do such a thing.

But it is shocking – shocking – that as a serving United States Senator, one that is head of the judiciary committee, Lindsey Graham would do something so reckless that it actually … could get him arrested if this was a functioning democracy. According to the Washington Post, Georgia’s Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger – an apparently honest GOP politician – Lindsey Graham called him (Why? Why even the fck CALL the man in charge of counting ballots? THAT right there is something that should be seen as highly improper before we even get to what was said). Yes, Lindsey called and had a strange suggestion:

In their conversation, Graham questioned Raffensperger about the state’s signature-matching law and whether political bias could have prompted poll workers to accept ballots with nonmatching signatures, according to Raffensperger. Graham also asked whether Raffensperger had the power to toss all mail ballots in counties found to have higher rates of nonmatching signatures, Raffensperger said.

Raffspenger said he was stunned that Graham appeared to suggest that he find a way to toss legally cast ballots. Absent court intervention, Raffensperger doesn’t have the power to do what Graham suggested, as counties administer elections in Georgia.

“It sure looked like he was wanting to go down that road,” he said.

Something is very wrong. Something is very very wrong. Normally, this kind of thing wouldn’t happen no matter how badly one side wanted their president to win. That same pressure that maybe changed Lindsey seemingly overnight, might be coming to bear on a lot of people again. Lindsey Graham’s career is suddenly very much at risk.

Naively, Raffensperger said he was shocked that such threats were coming from his side. Because, of course, Lindsey’s threat (“question”) was the least offensive call Raffensperger has taken from a GOP politician. Georgia Trumper Rep. Doug Collins was vicious (see link) in his criticism, and Raffensperger has, of course, received death threats, because that’s what MAGAs do.

We almost expect death threats and unbelievable illegal pressure from a House member like Doug Collins, but to get that kind of suggestion from Lindsey Graham, is sort of breathtaking.

Thank god it made it into the Washington Post because now Lindsey should be VERY worried. Provided Biden is sworn in on January 20th and a new A.G. is appointed, Graham could conceivably be charged with interfering with a federal election. Everyone should read that article and appreciate that a decent man is overseeing the hand recount.

* Since we finished this column, others noticed that Lindsey has a problem:
