Melania Trump Reportedly Plans to Decorate the White House for Christmas One Last Time

In the four years since Donald Trump became president, First Lady Melania Trump has tended to use some rather, well, garish, decorations to denote the holiday season. And it’s not all that long ago since recorded conversations reveal she once asked “Who gives a f*** about the Christmas stuff and decorations?”

Despite this, People magazine has revealed she’s going to decorate the White House one last time. It’s an interesting about-face for Melania, who, as the tapes reveal, was quite dismissive of this traditional role.

“I’m working … my a** off on the Christmas stuff, that you know, who gives a f*ck about the Christmas stuff and decorations?” she can be heard saying. “But I need to do it, right?”

Melania has since vented her anger at Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, recorder of said tapes and author of the book Melania & Me. She has criticized Wolkoff as releasing the recordings of their conversations as being taken “out of context” and claimed the book is little more than “idle gossip trying to distort my character.”

Stephanie Grisham, a spokeswoman and Press Secretary for Melania Trump told People her boss is “looking forward to once again opening the People’s House for Christmas” next month.

“It is an annual tradition that she has enjoyed designing since June,” Grisham said. “The decor will be showcased and celebrated across the country in December.”

Last year, Melania went for a patriotic “bright-and-white” holiday theme, People reports, after using garish blood-red trees that brought consternation from scores of social media users the year before. Some drew dystopian comparisons between the trees and imagery from The Handmaid’s Tale.

Melania, however, didn’t see it that way.

“We are in 21st Century and everybody has a different taste,” she said, noting “I think they look fantastic.”

Next year at this time, most of us won’t know or even care what Melania and her washed-up husband are doing for Christmas. What a relief.
