Election 2020
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Demolishes Ted Cruz and it’s a Beautiful Site to Behold
The Capitol siege earlier this month was an intrinsically agonizing and devastating experience for Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), one that’s she’s not going to ever forget, and she decided to remind Sen. Ted Cruz that she’s not willing to excuse him for his role in inciting the insurrection in the best way she knows how:
By using her razor-sharp wit and intelligence.
Ocasio-Cortez has been calling for congressional hearings on recent trading restrictions that were imposed by the RobinHood app after GameStop shares rose when a social media war on hedge funds erupted. In a tweet, Cruz noted he agreed with her, according to Raw Story.

But perhaps for Ocasio-Cortez, this was like rubbing salt into a new wound. She wasn’t on board with forgetting that he helped incite the riots that spurred an angry mob to roam the halls of Congress looking to hurt her and other Democrats in order to block certification of President Joe Biden’s election victory.

So she very politely, but very emphatically ripped Cruz a new one.
“I am happy to work with Republicans on this issue where there’s common ground, but you almost had me murdered 3 weeks ago so you can sit this one out,” she responded on Twitter. “Happy to work w/ almost any other GOP that aren’t trying to get me k*lled. In the meantime if you want to help, you can resign.”

Ooh, that’s got to leave burn marks.
Prior to the Jan. 6 certification, Cruz, along with Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) announced they intended to challenge some slates of Biden’s electors, and when the insurgents rifled through Cruz’s desk on the Senate floor, they claimed they had his support.
Perhaps Ocasio-Cortez was thinking about this in her response to Cruz, and she mourned the death of a second Capitol police officer, who took his own life in the aftermath of the siege. She told Cruz to apologize and quit dogging her timeline.
“You haven’t even apologized for the serious physical + mental harm you contributed to from Capitol & custodial workers to your own fellow members of Congress,” she wrote. “In the meantime, you can get off my timeline & stop clout-chasing. Thanks. Happy to work with other GOP on this.”

Cruz’s behavior has been offensive and reprehensible and more members should ask him to resign. Really. He’s disgusting. Kudos to Ocasio-Cortez for telling it like it really is.
