A physician we spoke to recently, it was actually last night and, we admit – family, has been sitting at home too much, like all of us, and has more time than usual time to watch the news. He hasn’t followed much of anything with respect to Trump, other than to hate him and think Trump is dangerous. This doctor then admitted to listening to large portions of the Trump tape. Unprompted, and with 40 years of experience, the doctor said, “[Trump] sounded like lots of patients I’ve seen with pre-dementia … I wonder if he can still eat with utensils … he’d be at … but that’s impossible because they have doctors around him every minute and …”

At which point it was necessary to interrupt him and say that Trump may or may not be in pre-dementia but the doctors don’t matter in the least. This guy was fascist in his phone call to an elected official. He would roll over any physician who got in his way, in our opinion.

None of that really means anything except one day later, the very next morning, CNN said that Trump president has either “lost his mind and that is charitable,” and they wonder “whether he has lost his grip on reality and there is much of the tape to suggest this.”

Brennan essentially said “Much off the tape suggested that Trump has lost his grip on reality,” the same tape that led a disinterested and unprompted doctor to say the same thing. Of course, CNN didn’t say “the tape suggests a patient with pre-dementia.” But one really really wonders now whether some of their medical experts, like a neurosurgeon they have on a lot, whether that guy or others have been saying or said the exact same thing going back a while now. That when the curtain is pulled away, “this guy sounds like someone who we’ve seen …”

We could up the ante one more and say that CNN’s medical experts, especially Sanjay Gupta, are the type that might hear things from doctors behind the scenes.

It is an anecdote, it is speculation, and CNN can say anything they want. But when have they ever said anything like this before?

It is the “lost his grip on reality” that really sticks out. At the very least, it is incredibly unusual for any news station to emphatically say such a thing. And they might hear things we don’t. It really does make one wonder.
