Donald Trump is not and never has been a smart man. Annie Leibovitz, the famed Vanity Fair photographer once said “You have never met anyone as stupid as Donald Trump, ever.” Except we think that we have. His name is Donald Trump … Junior, and he’s half as smart as his stupid dad.

Junior does have his dad’s genius for giving the crowd what they want. Of all the Trump kids, Junior’s the one who’s tapped into the Busch-Lite colored veins of the MAGA movement and could be considered a leader for office later down the road if the MAGA thing is still a thing. But that doesn’t make him smart just like it never made his father smart.

Junior’s “not smart” chops were on display today as he argued that the impeachment had to be a “sham political witch hunt” because the attack was pre-planned (yes, some say by the Trumpistas with help from the inside), and thus – because there was a plan, Trump couldn’t have incited anything.

Junior doesn’t consider the possibility that perhaps the planning that went into it involved far fewer people but when Trump took the podium and told them to walk to the Capitol and fight, far more people joined in and thus ensured that the “planners” succeeded. Watch Junior make a fool out of himself showing off his stupidity.

Yeah, he’s got us convinced! No, not really.

To the extent it was “pre-planned” there are a lot of hints that suggest that some of that planning might have come from people who could tell the DOD to not send troops over there. To the extent it was preplanned, perhaps people might have had second thoughts were they not whipped up into a frenzy. To the extent it was preplanned, it has nothing to do with what Trump planned for them and counted upon, nor does it excuse Trump’s refusal to do anything in the face of the attack – which standing by itself could be considered grounds for impeachment.

Besides, who said that the “incitement” had to be limited to the morning of the 6th? How many times did Trump assert that the vote was rigged and they had to fight with strength before the 6th. Who is to say that Trump didn’t incite the crowds to start the planning?

Junior needs to keep his mouth shut and not advertise that he’s dumber than his father. He should also look around and count the voices defending dear old dad, perhaps he will feel quite alone in doing so.
