Ivanka Trump is Taking a ‘Clean Break’ from Trump’s Chaotic Presidency, ‘Questioning Everything Now’

It’s beginning to look like Ivanka Trump plans to run for office and she’s apparently trying to distance herself from dear old dad and his chaotic embarrassment of a presidency while she contemplates her possible political future.

According to one close associate of Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner, speaking to Vanity Fair on conditions of anonymity, Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner are “looking forward to having a clean break.”

“They haven’t yet gone into what comes next and their government work is done,” the associate said. “It is a moment in their lives to focus exclusively on family and just relax.”

Yahoo! News reports that in the waning days of her father’s presidency, Ivanka worried about her own political career after Trump declared he would not attend Joe Biden’s inauguration.

Apparently Ivanka was trying to make nice and is doing whatever she can to “save her reputation,” one source told The Daily Mail.

But apparently she realized her public image was in the toilet and eventually decided to skip Biden’s inauguration just like her father did.

Now it seems that the couple is trying to regroup.

“That has Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump in a bit of a panic as they look to their future,” said CNN White House correspondent Kate Bennett. “I talked to a lot of sources today who say they’re questioning everything now, from where they’re going to live after the White House to what their careers will be.”

Because Ivanka, Trump’s eldest daughter, served as his adviser from 2017 on, more than a few people think she’s got her eyes on that particular prize. This could be true, because Ivanka kept pretty much to herself while the rest of the family jumped on the “election fraud” bandwagon in support of her father. Ivanka, however, seemed to prefer talking about what she perceived as her father’s achievements. Some people viewed this as damage control to protect her own image.

But because of her father’s disastrous presidency, at least one person believes the Kushners’ return to political high society in New York will be difficult.

“He’s despicable but larger than life,” said brand management tycoon Donny Deutsch. “Those two are the hapless minions who went along.”

In a blistering story for Vanity Fair, Lysandra Ohrstrom, a former friend of Ivanka Trump writes on her change from businesswoman to “MAGA royalty,” with her own carefully cultivated brand.

“Ivanka joined her dad’s administration, I was sure she would step in to moderate her father’s most regressive, racist tendencies,” Ohrstrom writes.

But that’s not what happened.

“The Ivanka I knew spent her career developing and embodying a more polished and intellectual offshoot of the Trump brand, which blended the language and look of white millennial feminism with the mythical narrative of business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit she claimed to have inherited from her dad … Instead, I’ve watched as Ivanka has laid waste to the image she worked so hard to build.”

And to think, she did all of that for her father’s train wreck of a presidency. I think he’s pretty much trashed her chances of becoming president. I’m hoping that’s true anyway.
