Trump Adviser Says the Inauguration Can Be Rescheduled if More Time is Needed to Investigate Fraud
Saturday evening continued to get increasingly insane and dangerous as it moved on.
Yes. Peter Navarro is dumber than a shoe, but he is also a member of Trump’s administration. He draws a government salary. He answers to Trump.
Somehow he believes that Pence has a “10-day window” and that the inauguration can be put off. This is just such dangerous talk. But Navarro went on to Judge Jeanine Pirro’s show and unloaded some of the most dangerous ammunition one can hear. “10 day window” and “the inauguration can be put off.”
On a hunch he might be wrong, let’s just check real quick. Can the inauguration be put off?
20th Amendment Section 1

The terms of the President and Vice President shall end at noon on the 20th day of January, and the terms of Senators and Representatives at noon on the 3d day of January, of the years in which such terms would have ended if this article had not been ratified; and the terms of their successors shall then begin.
Not a lot of wiggle room in that unless one wants to throw the 20th Amendment out. Let’s see if there’s wiggle room in the 12th Amendment for a 10-day window?
12th Amendment (Relevant Part)
The President of the Senate shall, in the presence of the Senate and House of Representatives, open all the certificates and the votes shall then be counted;-The person having the greatest Number of votes for President, shall be the President, if such number be a majority of the whole number of Electors appointed; and if no person have such majority, then from the persons having the highest numbers not exceeding three on the list of those voted for as President, the House of Representatives shall choose immediately, by ballot, the President.
Damn. Nothing about a 10-day window. Did you also notice there is nothing in there about objections? Right. Just as we reported tonight and, for that matter, a week.
Except Donald Trump watches TV at night. He hears this. He might well have told Navarro to say it, but we also know that if Trump hears it he will love it. Trump can now – according to what people around him are saying, still has plenty of time to win. Awesome. Somehow.
We have a constitution. It says that this cannot be done. But we now have people leading who don’t care what the constitution says. And it gets damned dangerous when talk like this gets loose on Fox.

No.
And this isn’t coming from Hannity or someone on OAN, this is the call coming from inside the house, the administration itself.
Someone hasn’t read the 20th amendment.
That’s unfortunate. 😬

But it appears they’re prepared to ignore it and put their own interpretation into things.
But below is what happens if you have people who ignore the constitution:
Furthermore, if Pence doesn't open the window, they can throw the election to the municipal council of Poughkeepsie, NY. It's all right there in Article Eight of the Constitution, which is the one you can only read if you put lemon juice on the paper. https://t.co/MamIm6k9nn

That’s what it gets down to.
