Trump Has Thus Far Refused to Offer Condolences for Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick

Some headlines you just can’t believe. After all, Donald Trump is the “Law and Order” president, right? He’s known for his love of the boys in blue.

But what if one of those boys in blue lost his life during a riot that you pushed your supporters to commit?

Crickets.

Nearly five days after Capitol Police Officer Brian D. Sicknick lost his life fighting rioters in the halls of Congress, Trump still has yet to order flags to fly at half-staff at federal buildings, according to multiple reports.

Trump also has yet to reach out to the Sicknick family, The New York Times reported.

Vice President Mike Pence, meanwhile, has called the family to extend condolences, the Times noted.

“President Trump has not ordered the flags on federal buildings to fly at half-staff in honor of Brian D. Sicknick, a police officer who was killed after trying to fend off pro-Trump loyalists during the siege at the Capitol on Wednesday,” The New York Times reported Saturday. “While the flags at the Capitol have been lowered, Mr. Trump has not issued a similar order for federal buildings under his control. A White House spokeswoman did not respond to a request for comment.”

Pence also tweeted, which he’s allow to do. Furthermore, while he is unable to tweet from his normal account, Trump could tweet condolences from his @POTUS account.

Sicknick was hit in the head with a fire extinguisher while responding to the riots, and later died of his injuries, officials have said.

Flags on the Capitol building itself were lowered Friday, per a directive from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, but Trump has not issued the same order for the federal buildings under his purview, according to reports in the Times and MSNBC.

Meanwhile, Trump and Pence have reportedly not spoken since Wednesday. Trump is off acting like a big baby because Pence wasn’t willing to break the Constitution to illegally somehow keep him as president.

Pence is said to be furious that Trump made him the target of Wednesday’s angry mob that stormed the Capitol as Pence was overseeing the Congressional election-certification process.

Sicknick, a native of South River, New Jersey, was the youngest of three brothers and had long dreamed of being a cop. He was also a Trump supporter in 2016, and when he wasn’t working, he liked to rescue dachshunds.

Over on Twitter, people are sickened:
