Trump-Loving Evangelist Says Biden is an ‘Illegal Counterfeit’ Because God Anointed Trump President
Ever the Trump-loving right-wing evangelist, Lance Wallnau popped up on the Jim Bakker Show Thursday to maintain that the U.S. is divided, because actually, according to God’s “anointing” Donald Trump this means that “there’s an illegal counterfeit in office,” who happens to be — that’s right, you guessed it — actual President Joe Biden.
One could possibly swat Wallnau down as a mere annoyance, except some of his fellow crazies, like Marjorie Taylor Greene, are turning Congress into the world’s biggest monkey house. Because it seems these people are prone to believe ridiculous ideas, so it’s really better to put folks like Wallnau into the ejector seat and send them to Walmart Land or wherever it is they hang out to acquire such foolishness.
But instead, Wallnau, who claimed in October that God was going to do plenty of smiting on Donald Trump’s behalf while the former president was sick in the hospital with COVID, is claiming Biden won’t be able to handle the thorny issues that include dealing with North Korea, Iran, and terrorism because, unlike Trump, he hasn’t received God’s anointing.
That led him to compare the situation in the U.S. to the split of ancient Israel, as mentioned in 1 Kings 12, wherein Israel’s northern tribes refuse to submit to Rehoboam upon the death of King Solomon. Instead, the tribes revolted and that led to the kingdoms of Judah and Israel.
“God isn’t finished with America, and God isn’t even finished with Donald Trump,” Wallnau said. “I think people think, ‘He’s out of office, [we] have a new president,’ but what if God has an anointing on Donald Trump to be Cyrus, and there’s an illegal counterfeit in office.”
“We’re almost in the time when Israel was divided between Rehoboam and Jeroboam, and Jeroboam went to the north, and he created his own counterfeit religion to mirror the real thing,” he added. “This is what the Democrats are doing. It’s the woke politics of intersectionality and race and transgenderism. Meanwhile, the kingdom is divided because the real anointing is still on Donald Trump.”

It would be nice if Wallnau would join the 21st Century. Rehoboam, the son of King Solomon, was born in 972 B.C., a few years before Pat Robertson, who also likes to say foolish things. While I realize the Middle East is still a hotbed of terrorism, largely thanks to the U.S., that was then, this is now.
But Wallnau prefers to spread misinformation and to fear-monger. There’s always a chance he could just be ignorant, but considering the fact that he has a net worth of $3 million, and his non-profit group Lance Wallnau Ministries Inc. has been hauling in millions over the past several years, according to ProPublica, that seems unlikely.
Quite obviously he’s a man who prefers bringing a gun to a knife fight, to quote the late Warren Zevon. He summed up the podcast with this:
“If you remove him by illegal means, you can have the position, but you don’t have an anointing for that,” Wallnau said. “That’s why America is vulnerable right now. Muslim terrorism and the emergence again of North Korea and Iran is going to trouble this administration because they don’t have an anointing to restrain it. Trump had it.”
But so-called Muslim terrorism hasn’t been busy lately, unlike what’s going on in our own country, considering that hundreds, if not thousands of its adherents stormed the Capitol building earlier this month. Muslim terrorists were nowhere in sight on this one. And despite what he likes to think, Trump was (fortunately) legally removed, despite what he and his sycophants would have you believe.
I’ve included clips of Wallnau’s nonsensery below.
