Even though White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki has revitalized the White House by discussing actual facts instead of defending conspiracy theories, conservatives continue to hang on to her predecessor, Kayleigh McEnany, and her makeup, ComicSands reports.

Quite obviously pressing and important matters, like I don’t know…the pandemic, the jobs situation, the economy, and um, the impeachment trial of Kayleigh’s former boss don’t matter in the land of conservative Twitter. But apparently Jen Psaki, and her habit of not piling on a pound of makeup do.

Don’t get me wrong. McEnany is cute. Really, she is, but she’s also a Trump supporter, who spread conspiracy theories right along and treated the press disrespectfully. But there’s a huge difference between McEnany and the woman who’s now filling the press secretary’s shoes.

Where McEnany spent plenty of time obfuscating, Psaki is clear and concise. Shockingly, she answers reporters’ questions. But conservatives have posted disgusting memes some of which seem to imply Psaki is there for men’s appraisals and this for all the world shows that these folks, mostly men, still have one foot in the 1850s.

Perhaps the worst example of this is a tweet posted by Gavin Mario Wax. His comment “Kayleigh was TV ready every morning…Psaki can’t bother to prep or do her makeup,” is offensive but doesn’t seem like that big of a deal until you read the meme underneath it.

And yes, Wax is getting a suitable comeuppance from Twitter users who note his obvious sexism. Makeup does nothing to make someone an effective press secretary despite what conservatives like him believe.

It might because she is doing a real job and doesn't have time to primp for an audience like the previous joke of a press secretary. I think she's lovely, and I think she's a hell of a lot more intelligent than McEnemy (yes, that was petty… and on purpose)
