OH NO: Ted Cruz’s Day Just Got MUCH Worse, NYT Has Wife’s Texts About Trip: Proof He Lied All Day

We reported all day on the fact that the most-hated guy in the U.S. Senate is going to get exactly no leeway on his Cancun adventure, indeed the GOP is going to use it for all it is worth to jam him as much as possible. What is Cruz going to do? Caucus with the Democrats? Start his own caucus? No, he will just fall further down the power structure in the GOP Senate all the way to possible resignation.

Ted managed to make a shockingly stupid decision worse by the hour, putting out obvious lies, reports that he asked the Houston Police Department escort his family to and through the airport on their way out of town, having his office go dark and not answer the phone this morning, only to put out an obvious lie, “I am just escorting my family down and coming back,” and then blaming his daughters.

As this site often says, until one passes, things can always get worse. This is especially true when one of your friends (presumably) leaks your wife’s texts planning the trip with friends, saying they should all meet at the Ritz Carleton at $309 a night and that the trip was planned through the weekend. The Ritz, in Cancun, while one’s state freezes for almost five days now, not to get better for a few day. Ted abandons Texas for a beautiful luxury beach at a cost that a family in Texas could desperately use.

It is getting even worse, with proof that Ted lied this morning, a very cynical lie.

From the NYT:

“Text messages sent from Ms. Cruz to friends and Houston neighbors on Wednesday revealed a hastily planned trip. Their house was ‘FREEZING,’ as Ms. Cruz put it — and she proposed a getaway until Sunday. Ms. Cruz invited others to join them at the Ritz-Carlton in Cancún, where they had stayed “many times,” noting the room price this week ($309 per night) and its good security. The text messages were provided to The New York Times and confirmed by a second person on the thread, who declined to be identified because of the private nature of the texts,” the newspaper reported.

We presume that the NYT was not on the text thread planning the trip. The plans would be made among friends. To have those texts turned over to the NYT, one of Cruz’s “friends” hates the fckers guts. Which makes his friends no different than his enemies.

Yeah. Well. We have some advice for Ted. With each passing hour today, we thought things couldn’t possibly be worse. And with each hour, things got worse. We forgot our own motto, things can always get worse, bro. Especially for a guy that everybody hates.

‘Wonder what tomorrow will bring?
