Press Sec. Jen Psaki Slammed for ‘Homophobic’ Tweet Mocking Lindsey Graham

This article has received massive criticism on the net because we covered this issue at all, and why time was taken to do this rather than sedition, cruelty, tax issues, etc. Readers here know that I cover those subjects daily with intense coverage.

I have spent 4 days praising the utter professionalism demonstrated by Jen Psaki. But I think she made a mistake worth noting for two reasons: 1. If a GOP spokesperson made a similar comment against mayor Pete we’d be appropriately outraged. 2. I also wanted to point out the utter hypocrisy of the GOP, having had Kayleigh as a spokesperson saying infinitely worse inappropriate and hateful language.

We stand by this article as worthy of consideration. To the extent there are more important matters, readers here know we cover the more critical stuff extensively.

Anyone who visits this site on a regular basis knows that we take issue with Lindsey Graham quite often, as is appropriate.

But in the past, we noted that whatever happened to Lindsey Graham, it is a bit sad. Most Democrats don’t know that in the mid to late 2000s, Democratic staffers, Senators, and Representatives on Capitol Hill liked and respected Lindsey Graham more than just about any other GOP Senator. (People often spoke well of John Boehner, too, believe it or not). We have called out Graham’s hypocrisy on many occasions, lamented what happened to him, and wondered what it was that Trump had over him. But we have never, ever, once mocked what some believe to be a hidden lifestyle. (And that’s all we’re going to say.)

There is a term used on many sites, on Twitter, and even some left-wing writers who should know better, “Lady G.”

We have always found it offensive, whether used by the left or anyone on the right. We have called out other people on other sites who used the term. It is absurd and hateful. Lindsey Graham has a lot to answer for. That isn’t one of them. So we were disappointed to hear that Jen Psaki used the term last year on Twitter:

Not good. Not good at all. And we say that as huge fans of Psaki. Indeed, we’ve written glowingly about her several times in the last week. She had earned it, doing a fantastic job.

We consider this serious enough that had we been the candidate, doing a comprehensive background check on Psaki in consideration of appointing her Press Secretary, we would have called her in and asked what the hell she was doing? At the very least, we’d require her to disclose that she made a mistake (whether the tweet was controversial or not) and have her send a personal letter to Senator Graham. If we were the candidate we would also send a personal letter to Graham, not some form letter, asking forgiveness and promising it would never happen again.

We would consider excluding her from the job. One tweet is only one tweet but that’s a pretty f’ing big no-brainer, very inappropriate. and we’d wonder if she’d make a similar mistake when she spoke for an entire administration. If we were the president now and saw this coming out today she’d get a closed-door meeting of the type staff dreads. “Don’t do it again” and a probationary period with “zero tolerance” on mistakes of this kind. (Mistakes on information are different, everyone makes mistakes.)

It better not happen again.

Having said all that, we want to note that all those people on the Right who are flipping out need to check themselves. True, they need to see us taking care of our own. But having taken care of that, these people need to look at a daily breakdown of what the last White House Press Secretary had to say about just about any group. We could simply start with members of the media and the hateful pronouncements about the Democrats. They do not have a leg to stand on because Jen made her mistake before becoming press secretary.

If we really wanted to, we could remind the Right that it was Kayleigh who just 8 years ago was writing about Obama’s brother in a hut in Kenya, while calling Obama “son.” Or just go straight to the top and go at Trump. Where we these sensitive people when Trump called George Conway “moon face”?

So while we are highly disappointed to see this old tweet, and while we’d put Psaki on a zer0-tolerance policy, a “last warning” thing, because that kind of comment is simply unacceptable, we do want to tell the MAGAs one thing.

Fck off.
