REPORT: Trump is Terrified that Political Opponents ‘Will Be Suing Me the Rest of My Life’

Trump should be afraid.

We aren’t even saying that with any emotion, though we could. But Trump should be held accountable for the rest of his life, just like all of us. He spent his life doing whatever he wanted and mostly getting away with it.

Remember the night of his “great 2016 victory”? Trump looked visibly and obviously terrified. We don’t recall ever seeing that look at any other point in his life. We believe that he knew he would be held to account. We didn’t think it would take anywhere near this long.

So, according to reports, Trump is afraid of being sued until he’s gone.

“With the Senate trial in the rearview, Trump is now confronting a whole range of other legal dramas during his immediate post-presidency,” reported Asawin Suebsaeng and Adam Rawnsley. “No longer shielded by the considerable legal protection of the Oval Office, Trump has privately bemoaned that his foes are going to be investigating or ‘suing me for the rest of my life,’ according to one person who’s discussed the matter with him in the past few weeks.”

In the most high-profile recent example, Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS) is suing Trump and his ally Rudy Giuliani for conspiracy under the Ku Klux Klan Act of 1871, for their role in inciting the Capitol riot. MSNBC anchor and former GOP congressman Joe Scarborough has also met with attorneys to discuss a lawsuit over the former president’s false claims that Scarborough caused a staff to lose their life. There are also criminal investigations into Trump in New York, D.C., and Georgia.

Oh for god’s sake, he has probably had at least a dozen lawsuits against him for at least the last thirty years. They just didn’t matter. They were not the type of lawsuits that could both drain his entire bank account while also exposing humiliating and possibly criminal behavior. He is scared of being sued but not for the sake of being sued. We suspect that he feels a bit like he did the night of his “victory.”

Oh, and do recall that it was just a day ago we heard that a hacker has his files from the Jones Day firm. Just so we’re all on the same page, it may very well be that a private hacker got into those files. But we also know that a lot of people, companies, and countries wanted those files and eventually – like six weeks after an insurrection – when those files broke, it would always be attributed to a “hacker,” even if the hack came from within a government. Any government.

Trump should be afraid of all “legal” matters coming up. Interesting that he already characterizes these suits as “politically motivated.”
