Eric Trump sounded like he was on the edge of tears during an interview with Fox News’s Maria Bartiromo Sunday morning as he talked about his belief that Democrats have “weaponized the legal system” against his family, PoliticusUSA reports.

On Fox News program Sunday Morning Futures, he told Bartiromo, he struck up the pity party for dear old dad.

“They tried to impeach my father after he was out of office (um…his father was actually impeached. It went well beyond trying.) They’ll do everything they can to weaponize the legal system against me and my family. They do it every single day…It’s because they’re all in the pocket of the Democratic Party, and frankly, it’s disgusting.”

PoliticusUSA notes that the younger Trump was referring to the ongoing criminal investigation into former President Donald Trump and his children for bank and tax fraud in Manhattan.

In the story, PoliticusUSA founder and managing editor Jason Easley notes:

“The Trumps have been committing fraud for decades. One could say that fraud is the family business,” he writes. “Eric Trump is clearly worried about being criminally indicted and was trying to poison the soil with preemptive claims that any indictment is partisan politics.”

Nearing the end of the video it was quite clear that he was worried an orange jumpsuit could be in his future and at one point his voice welled up as he talked to Bartiromo. While he remains quiet it looks like he’s struggling to hold back tears.

But if he’s worried about the legal aspects to all this, well, he’s brought that on himself. That can be said for every family member who’s being investigated. We know about Donald Trump’s tax fraud issues and that he’s also relieved a stray dog charity of $1.8 million and we also know about Eric and Donald Trump Jr.’s and dear old dad’s fraudulent activities with a children’s cancer charity. We know about Ivanka Trump’s legal issues and that Maria Bartiromo will never ask any Trump family member difficult questions because she fawns over Donald Trump as if he were some sort of messiah.

So if Eric Trump is feeling tearful, I’m afraid I’m all out of sympathy.
