Montana Senator Complains That Meth Isn’t Homegrown Anymore and Social Media Has Serious Questions
In case anyone hadn’t noticed, the only news the Republicans want to talk about is the crisis on the border, a crisis primarily caused by Trump. Trump was notoriously known to be so cruel that upon Biden’s election, immigrants and refugees (not the same thing) clamored to get into the country. In reality, the situation isn’t all that different than under Trump, except more people are coming and Biden is trying to resolve the situation humanely.
Yesterday’s presidential press conference focused almost primarily upon the immigration “crisis,” one that has been largely invented by the political Right. Moreover, Republican Senators could help legislate an end to this. We have needed a new immigration bill since Bill Clinton. Obama tried. There were very few questions yesterday about the $3 trillion stimulus bill (seems important), the distribution of the vaccine (seems important), or global warming (is important.) Reporters wanted to look tough on Biden and not offer up a softball question, so they asked about the only thing the Right cares about, beating back brown people.
Republican senators also want to look tough. You had Ted Cruz making an ass of himself – again – filming himself at night on the Rio Grande River, looking more like one of those sasquatch shows or a paranormal documentary (we suppose Cruz qualifies as both.) And today, Montana Senator Steve Daines wanted his fellow Montanans to get back to buying Montana meth, made from quality products like Montana bleach, Montana pseudoephedrine, and whatever else goes into making meth (Ask Steve Bannon, unconfirmed reports that he knows).
Because he is sick of the Mexicans bringing Mexican-grade meth into Montana and displacing the economy, sending money to Mexico, or something like that:
Sen. Steve Daines: “Twenty years ago in Montana, meth was homemade. It was homegrown. And you had purity levels less than 30%. Today the meth that is getting into Montana is Mexican cartel.” pic.twitter.com/Xtu1geaVxJ

That has to be stopped! Again, pass an immigration bill and make it explicit. All meth sold in Montana must have a “Made in the USA” sticker attached.
Actually, of course, not all drugs are created equal and meth might be the single worst. Meth causes children to be ignored. It is bad. But Steve Daines blaming brown people for meth is almost as bad. Who is buying all this meth? If there was no market, they wouldn’t make it.
We are nearly certain that he’s partly right and partly pulling those facts out of his big sky butt. We are certain that it is nothing more than a means of talking about anything but all the great things that President Biden is doing for America.
Some Americans had a little fun with Daines:

Yep. Good times. Bring meth back to Montana, where they’ll learn to make it better.
