CNN Hosts Respond to Tucker Carlson’s Absolutely Insane Anti-Mask Segment: ‘This Isn’t a Game!’

A vaccinated person, someone with the antibodies wearing a mask outside, is like watching a grown man expose himself in public.

Tucker Carlson 4-26-21

A couple of stories from last week collided this morning, resulting in a dramatic and thoroughly deserved takedown of Tucker Carlson who needs to be taken off the air as soon as possible.

We are not sure at all about what was going through Carlson’s mind when he said the above “exposure” quote – other than making it particularly gross – but Tucker managed to make it worse when he told viewers to call the cops if they see children wearing masks outdoors, confront adults who also wear their masks outdoors. Yes, Carlson said it. This comes after Tucker railed and laughed maniacally last week about the Chauvin verdict that obviously angered Carlson.

We also noted last week that CNN’s move to put Brianna Keilar in the earlier timeslot – CNN’s New Day – would significantly enhance the show, making it smarter and tougher. Keilar tag-teamed with John Berman this morning to confront Tucker’s COVID-Mask statement with all the anger and fear it deserves. After all, Tucker also has a large audience and Tucker’s audience is the type that has already harassed people and inflamed the situation. Keilar noted:

“He is telling his viewers to confront people who are wearing masks outdoors, to harass them, and he’s doing this as people who have been following and promoting CDC guidance on masks thus far have already been harassed, physically assaulted, and k*lled in at least one case,”

Berman then played an old clip of Tucker saying that masks help abate the spread of the disease and then called Tucker out for stoking the conspiracy theory that the vaccines don’t work. Berman wondered if Tucker wants his audience to live and then said:

Bottom line, this isn’t a game. This isn’t entertainment, not to the half million lives lost and their families. When an unhinged person decides to harass someone or some kid for simply wearing a mask, remember Tucker’s words. Remember the uncovered pouty face. The health of this country, getting through this pandemic has come at such a cost. As for undermining it, Fox must think the price is right.

No, no one thinks it is a game. But it was a political football from the beginning – a deadly one – that many Fox hosts helped stoke. Now here we sit, over half a million lives lost later, and Fox still uses COVID as a political issue to be “debated,” despite the fact that we have an incredibly effective vaccine and we know exactly how the disease is spread. We are finally in a position to save lives and someone needs to ask India how lucky we are to be in this position.

But Fox and the MAGAs are doing all they can to ensure that the environment remains as dangerous as possible for its viewers, and through them, us.

Keilar and Berman are right to be outraged and perhaps need to go further.
