Meghan McCain Outdoes Herself With the Most Ridiculous Tweet About NEPOTISM and Twitter is Going Crazy

There are men, women, and kids, who have been borne into wealth and privilege for whom one can feel some (“some”) amount of sympathy. Now, obviously, everyone sensible reserves almost all sympathy for those people born into poverty without any opportunity whatsoever, people who never chose to be born into destitution and pain. But there is a sliver of care for those people on the opposite spectrum, who are truly and sincerely committed to making it on their own and yet cannot escape society’s suspicion that their last name opened every door.

This is a select group, a tiny minority. Most people, including perhaps some of us, would take advantage of opportunities given to us through our birth. It takes a special type of person to truly declare independence and set about on their own.

Meghan McCain is not in the first group, that one that would turn down anything based upon her last name and prove to herself and the world that she had what it took to rise up through… whatever career she might have chosen. Instead, like many of us might have, she jumped at the opportunity to grab a spot on a television show worth one million a year (and that’s nothing compared to her family money, but more than we make). Okay, many would do so.

But most of us would not start whining within the first two to three years that the audience must now respect that she’s held that job down for three years, through her hard work and forget that her name got her the opportunity, to begin with. Perhaps there might come a day when Meghan might be able to make such a claim, but then we’re talking about double-digit years. To make this statement, this early, did nothing but get the entire net thrown at her. Listen to this whine:

No, Meghan. The statement is: “I am lucky to have had an opportunity to get a start, in large part through my family’s name, and I hope to earn my spot daily in gratitude.” That’s the statement. That’s it. Stop crying and stop boasting.

Oh, did she ever get buried, as deserved.
